That looks amazing! The F350 shell really suit's the Clod chassis! :D

How exactly was it extended? Were the multi links just lengthened? I see the shocks are angled.

Awesome job!

It was extended 30mm. I believe my Japanese buddy (Kohki) used metal bars at the bottom of the chassis to bolt the links further, that might be the reason the shocks look angled as well. Anyway, I think you can drop him a line anytime, and he will be able to explain it better. I just decided to share the video because I really believe it is a beautiful Clod Buster Monster truck.

Ahhh, yes I see it now after watching the video again, he looks to have moved the ball connectors outwards for the multilink and extended the servo rods. Very good idea. :)

Absolutely, it looks gorgeous, and thank you for posting it EB ! :)

Your friend has a really good eye for making a model look good. :)

The colour, with the colour coded bumpers looks great against the black chassis and chrome wheels. The wheelbase extension keeps the proportions right too, the stock chassis does look too short from the side.

I'm a big fan of 80's monster trucks :)

I think the clod is too short compared to most 80's monster trucks, compared to USA1 Here

Bigfoot was also longer, it looks like Samson is running bigger wheels and tyres in that video (cool vid by the way :)), I'm sure I've got some pictures of it somewhere where it looks longer than that.

Rollin Thunder also had a long wheelbase, you can see it well in the last pic of my showroom entry Here

:)Can't blame you for being a big 80's Monster Truck fan.

Well, yes and no. The trucks you mention sure had longer wheelbase, but the Clod Buster was made after the 1985-6 Bear Foot C-30 Silverado, and that one was as short as the Tamiya model. In the pic I am showing three examples, Chevrolet S-10 Lil' Bear Foot (1985), Awesome Kong II (73wheels, 1985), and the third one (could not get one better) is the Silverado Bear Foot. Might try to find a better picture later.

The Samson 1 truck, that very often is been called the 1:1 Clod Buster was modified many times through the years, as much as any of the other Monster Trucks in the States. The interesting thing is to compare the wheelbase of the model that Tamiya wanted to scale down to the 1:1. Other thing to keep in mind if you look closely, is the fact that the Clod runs a bit too high on its wheels.

Done a few of these on my clods and juggernauts, most I have extended by an inch or 2 as the trucks also have extended wheelbase. Looks more scale if the body is stretched too.
