Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town for a few days.

Member Kev The Rev pertty much got it right on. May I ask what you plan to do with this beauty? If you plan to run it, I would HIGHLY suggest you get an ESC.

This will give you trouble free running as well as any protection from electrical fire. Remember to keep the original MSC though!

I don't have a manual in front of me, but if you decide to reset the servo arms, make sure the servos are in netural position. This will avoid any confusion.

Ok, done all above.

Steering, its great if its not in the air, soon as its on the bround the strreing is very poor.

Driving, again ok when in the air, soon as its on the floor, ie hard surface it wont go into gear all the time and makes a wirring noise. Guys ive cleared the transmission out with WD40 and re-applied new oil also. I have also tried placing the crank rods to maximum tjust to get that little bit extra play on the servos, but its not having it at all ?

Mark, I have a few ?'s.

1) How much lubricant did you put in the tranny?

2) are you sure the winning noise is coming from the tranny and not the rear axle case?

those are the easy ?'s

now for the hard ones and costly ones.

3) will the truck sift though the gears when its "in the air"

4) will the tires turn when the truck is "in the air"

it sounds to me that you have a gear mesh problem in either the tranny or the axle pinion.

you can send me the chassis to get it rite for you.

Hi MArk, I'm in south Louisiana.

i would be very interested to see the plastic slipper gear in the first chamber behind the motor.

I'll be glad to get the chassis running if you want to send it my way.

If you tell me exactly what picture you require or send one to me of what you require ill get it sent to you straight away. Its very furstrating as this model looks new built, and i think the problem im having is also due to the car maybe being run once or twice at the most. I think it would cost too much to send it to you and then return it so much info appreciated to try and sort it here.

Hi Mark, please see the attached pictures. First let me say that the pictures are from Kope.com and secondly, the gear part shown is for the bruiser/mounty and not a BB or vintage Hilux. The vintage gear for the BB and hilux is much smaller and does not feature the functioning slipper gear. The pictures do however show you the plastic counter gear that I am referring to. I believe that the smaller gear is worn out or possibly stripped.

It's very common for me to see nearly new vintage 3 speeds with this gear stripped out. It was very easy to tear this gear up if a shift gate was not used.

Hello All !

Being a very new member, i would like some help from all you experts out there.

I recently obtained a Blazing Blazer which looked to have been rune maybe once or twice in the 80's. I charged the battery and decided to give it a go.

Im having problems getting the thing to move ! sometimes it does not go into drive and only gives a wirring noise, always comes out of 4x4 mode and steering seems to move only a little and cant get full lock on it. I would appreciate some help, or anyone living in the NE of England can maybe take a look at it for me. It looks nearly new and would appreciate som help please.

Whereabouts are you? Country / area? Sorry if I missed your location.

Regards,

Alistair G.

Alistair, I think that he mentioned in his first post that he is in NE England.

LOL. Whoops must have missed it. I'm probably a tad too far away to help. Hey at least the guy could get to the Snetterton meet this year and meet fellow enthusiasts where someone could well help out as a lot of members have these vintage 3 speed trucks. Unlike some of us who can't get there  Sorry for the dig there. Just venting my frustration.

Cheers,

Alistair G.
