Well... it is a Subaru after all... and it kinda works too IMO...

BIG BIG thanks to Thelordofhoarde for the decs and without whom this project would not have happened...

Fishing for compliments BFST24..? Yeh, OK... Ben sprayed the wheels, not me! :)

I painted the shell and applied the decs... oh, and the front end chassis re-build.. the g'box re-build.. the shocks re-build.. new radio (spektrum..) and leccy install... Driver from Twisty..

Thanks for your comments, I'm happy you all like it... (Not sure about the suggested chassis re-spray tho'.. will have think about that..)

It needs gold wheels to complete it  Otherwise I think it's great, awesome idea!

Agreed, it needs gold Speedlines!

I also think it would look way better on a Brat chassis, it works as it is but like you said, defintiely not one for the purists ;)

The ultimate would be some MB goldies, but you dont want to be chucking rare parts on your basher, so I reckon painting the silver ones gold would look pretty good I reckon ;) Plus you could touch them up if they got marked

Why the Brat chassis..? because of the colour..?

MB items are shiny... Scooby speedlines are matt... Matt gold is easily done.. but does shiny gold exist? The MB look kinda clinches it for me..!

Yeah I think it IS because of the red to be honest, it just takes the eye away from the Scooby theme.

Plus personally I've always prefered the Brat body on the brat chassis, I've always thought the Brat body looked too big perched on top of the Mud Blaster chassis.

HPI should be able to provide gold fice spoke rims, should even contain apaters to mount them even if it's not a 12mm hex...fit's the Hornets 5 circle pattern anyway...

I'm with Olly - would look great on a standard Brat chassis with the Sand Blaster tyres - too much of the red chassis taking the eye away from the great looking shell. But then I never did like the look of the Mud Blaster much anyway. Blackfoot looks good, Monster Beetle looks awesome, but the Mud Blaster just looked naff in comparison!

I think the ABS shell can look too big and solid... but having used the re-re lexan Brat shell the look is not overpowering IMO..

Just been checking out some alternate chassis' for the "Scooby blaster".. Bush Devil, king Blackfoot & re-re Brat... BD in blue sounds just the ticket!! Anyone think it might be a straight swap? the TC database says it shares the same chassis as does the KB, so, sounds like a go-er..!

As for the Mud Blaster look not being over popular.. that is part of the attraction for me, plus it having been one of the first tamiya cars I had..

Dont forget to post more pics if you do decide to spray the wheels :)

I completely forgot about the Bush Devil blue frame, yeah it is a straight swap for the red one however .....

..... the gold wheels look very awesome! They totally make it and complete the look.
