Thanks everyone, that was a lot of fun! It was great to see the all the great vehicles especially the Kyoshos. Sorry I had to leave early.

Thanks Peter for coming along. Was nice to meet you guys. The lunchbox battle was chaos but good fun. Have got some great pics of your cars in action. I will sort them out in the next day or so and will post them up here and on my showroom.

Cheers

Paul

How's the beach run shaping for next weekend? Are we still on?

I think so  ... Just realised it's school holidays so will be packed.

Were we doing a Gold Coast run? If so might have to travel a bit further south to find a quieter stretch of sand.

Anyone else keen for a day in the sun?

Yeah forgot about school holidays- **** it! I'd avoid places like burleigh and Kirra for sure. Morgan and I went to the spit last time. We parked in the carpark next to the pool. That can get really busy too. Was thinking maybe further towards the sand pumping jetty near the top of the spit. It will also depend on what time we go too.

Just checked the tides for the goldy for next Saturday. High tide is at 5.27am, low tide is at 11.08 am and high tide again is at 5.45pm. My thoughts are we do an early morning run, say around 8-9am. That way we hit the runout tide and hopefully avoid a packed beach.

That looked like a lot of fun. I'll make an event one of these days too!

Sure thing. Keep an eye out on this thread for future runs. It's all very casual and you can run whatever you like (except gas cars-too noisy!)

Was a heap of fun! Thanks for posting up the pics Paul - pretty good shots for a phone camera!

Hope to see you on a run soon yogi-bear - what cars have you got?

Next run should be round the 8th of October - venue TBC (open to suggestions)

Suggestions hey. How far do you want travel? Have seen a few places whilst on the road for work plus the two redland bay ones. I will post pics when I get home of some options.

There is another one i'm really keen to have a look at, which hopefully i'll get to in the next week or so.

They all look like good spots. Have you ever used the BMX track behind the R/C road track a Wynnum? It has recently been resurfaced.

Or is their still a BMX track down at the back of Capalaba at the PCYC?

Hi Peter

I've seen the one at wynnum but ive never used it. Mark lives right near the capalaba track- not sure what it's like though. I've run at the two redland bay tracks and they are both good fun. Have you used the wynnum track?

Only briefly. You can see a couple of shots of it in my show room http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...0&sid=32558

I only used the first section of the track, but if was nice, smooth and wide.

A while back I saw some blokes doing back flips on this track with a Savage (or similar), so it should satisfy Morgan's needs. ;)

It's too big to use the whole track at any one time though, and it could get quite busy with bikes as it is a club for BMX.

Another spot that may be worth a look, is the park off Pittwin road, Capalaba.

hmm, I might be able to do the 8th, and I'm happy to travel almost anywhere (I live in Sunnybank Hills). As for cars, I'd probably bring a Hot Shot, Fox, Marui Galaxy RS (I have a basher and hopefully soon enough parts to make a blue and red shelf queen), a Hornet with hotshot wheels, and maybe a Mad Bull. Plus I'll be strapping a mini video camera to any car I run, its the size of a match box and I can get about 1 hour footage from it. Quality is SVGA too.

Currently in my collection I also have;

a nichimo luminous (I won't be running that one!),

a mini cooper,

a TA01 Celica GT 4,

a Hornet with Sand Scorcher body,

a Renault Martini mk22 99% restored,

2 x celica LB Turbos, 1 to restore and 1 to build from parts

a cheap chinese version of a TL-01 with a HPI pantera body, which currently has a cracked front diff ;)

I did have a purple dirt thrasher, but have just given it to the neighbours son, we was pretty keen on it.

plus a whole lot of tamiya static models from when I was a teenager that need finishing,

regards

Johann

Nice collection yogi.

Found three more potential tracks today while "working". One of them is like 5 mins from where I used to live and didn't even know it was there. Am taking a runner there early in the morning for a test run. It's actually in your neck of the woods yogi over sunnybank/macgregor way. Will post some pics tomorrow.

Thanks! like many people here (or more specifically those in their 40s), my collection is largely centered around cars I either had or wanted as a teenager.

sounds good, while I'll drive anyway, closer is always better! Your job sounds like fun too, we should swap, I hardly ever get to go out!

Any chance of making it the 9th, it seems I am helping a mate move on the 8th, and Sundays are typically better for me, no kid duties etc

Here are a couple of tracks i found last week. They are both situated at the Gap. Bit of a hike but could be worth it. A couple of us are gonna check these out next week as well as our normal run- venue TBA.

I'm happy to do either Saturday or Sunday for our usual get together. Will go to the Gap on the alternative day.
