yeah, I agree, a vintage off-road meet would be great. I'll be bringing my galaxy marui (my first r/c car and all) and a few others from the era. So where are we going to meet? I'll start the ball rolling by picking Thornside (although have never been there), any takers?

Yeah thorneside looks to be the front runner. If you like jumps and plenty of dusty dirt action, you'll love thorneside. We have had some good meets there lately.

Still waiting for it- should be here either tomorrow or Monday. Say, if you want to part with any Scott, let me know.

Will let you know Paul. Have been meaning to offload a lot of cars but haven't got around to it yet.

Cheers dude. You really should come out for a run with us one day soon. Its just like old times when running vintage really meant runnining vintage!

Hey guys,

I cant do Sunday arvo as I just realised I have to work for a couple hours pulling down stuff at good food and wine expo. Is Saturday a possibility?

I vote for a garage sale at Scotty's for the next run

As for this weekend. I'm ok either afternoon after 2pm. Thorneside seems to be the winner. Will have a cople of non-tamiyas as well as my Blackfoot to christen in a dirt bath.

For anyone wanting gear, I'm fully stocked again so let me know if you want me to bring anything.

Too far for me to get to today. Looks like there was some good fun to be had.

I wont be able to make any weekend meets for a while as I will be working for the next month or so.

If anyone is up for a week day meet there is a chance that I could make it though.

No wonder you have so many projects still in waiting brad- you work too much! Will be looking forward to Xmas holidays so we can run anytime we want. Who's up for some Xmas holidays running??

I would not say that I work too much. I have so many projects as I hate painting. If I finish a chassis then I have to paint a body.

That being said I did strip and rebuild the Dark Impact today. I am aiming for a car a fortnight at the moment starting with the projects and then moving on to the new ones.

Definitely up for some running over the Christmas/New Year period- depending on days off. Last year I worked Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.

A long time ago I would use the car park out the back of the Victoria Point cinemas, it is a top spot as it is well lit and out of sight, but I guess it all depends on whether or not cars are using it. I think we would use it on a week night and it would almost be deserted, but that would probably change on Thursday to Saturday night, and school holidays.

You seem to be the man in the know for good R/C locations. Do you know of any places that may suit?

I posted some pics of various on-road tracks on previous pages of this thread. Not sure if you have seem them? There are a few to choose from. Why a night run if you don't mind me asking?

With the weather being as it is right now, it's nice to be out at night, plus it's easier for me to get out at night, as the weekends seem to always be one day too short :D

The top of the reservoir on Springwood road looks great but I don't see any lights. I have also used the car park at Birkdale Fair Shopping centre, it's ok but it dose have a lot of posts and speed bumps, also we could get more attention from drunks walking past. But it is close by, so it could be good for a quick run of an hour or so on a week night.

I found night running to be more relaxed, as I'm not trying to squeeze a run in between other commitments.

Would anyone be interested in an onroad night run? Maybe on a Friday or Saturday night?

Hey Peter

I'd be keen for a Friday of Saturday night run. Have a nice little spot under Aldi Capalaba where a few of us used to drift a few years ago. Ok lit, out of the way and quiet after 8pm.

Not able to do much next few weeks but post up if you head out and will try and pop in.

Hi Mark. That's sounds great, let me know a few days before hand if you think you may be free and we should meet up.

The other idea I had, was to wait until a few people could get a free day and head over to Trackside RC. I have read on their website that you can use their track for $10 a day.

Also, I was out riding last night and rode past the Birkdale Fair shopping centre, so I took a couple of pictures of the car park (around 8:30). It's not the best spot, but I guess it could be worse. I'm not trying to push this spot, I was just going past

Count me in for England park raceway. It's a bit of a hike to brendale but the track looks awesome. I don't mind shelling out ten bucks to use it either

Ok, maybe we could organize to go out there some time over the next few months. I don't know to do it though. How do we nominate a day? The track obviously can't be used on a race day. http://www.qrccra.org.au/ has race dates. Also something to note is that, from what I remember, no off road cars are allowed on the track.

Yeah it's on-road cars only. Could be tough going there on a weekend as they race, plus I'd imagine it's packed even on non race days. I wonder if they open on weeknights?
