Greetings all!! I wanted to see what you guys use to white the letters on your tires. I have done this to other tires in the past only to have the paint flake or just fall off during running. Should this only be reserved for shelf queens, Or is there a paint used that actually flexes?. Also what are you using to preserve the rubber on your tires. I know Tamiya tires are known for drying out and cracking due to age but can it be stopped??

Hey dwayne,

A good article on tyre lettering can be found HERE

I used a white paint pen made by Pilot...

(Pic taken from a current ebay listing :))

That seemed to work well too, took quite a while but the results were impressive, and after quite a few runs over the past couple of years it hasn't come off!

Hi, Celulose thinners is good for cleaning the tyre of anything, whilst any sort of "Back to Black" or silicone based automotive tyre shine would have the desired effect!
