Hi guys

Would like to have your opinion. I just ordered a HPI Ford Mustang Shell. I always loved that body. My Grandpa used to have a regular Mustang GT.

Now I need a nice chassis. I thougt about the TT01 but I think its to small. The wheelbase would fit but the track is to small. The body has 200mm.

What would you recommend?

Cheers

for narrow chassis you can put wide-dish big offset wheels on to fillup the width

HPI has a good range, go for +3 or +7mm ... sometimes can even fit +10 in the rear

That would be the same with every electric touring car chassis, none are wider than 190mm.

HPI make a range of 6mm offset vintage wheels and tyres designed to fill out the arches of 200mm bodies.

Kyosho TF-2 & TF-3 EP touring car chassis are 200mm wide ... :)

Thanks for the help

I download the manual of the tt01 and saw that there are sb7 axles (for wide bodys) and sb6 for regular (like the Lancia Delta). There are also some extra wide Hex on the D-Parts. But just 2 oft them. I lookslike the give a extra 5mm on each side. The 31mm vintage wheels from HPI give another 6mm on each side.

I guess with the SB7 and the HPI wheels the track should go just a little over 200mm.

I took my TC3 and bought the 200mm conversion kit. There wasnt much to it other than wider arms and new CVD bones. i think you can still get them easy on ebay separately It resulted in a killer 200mm chassis. I then mounted the HPI vintage wheels and tires with the 31mms on the back and slapped a'68 Camaro body on it and it looked great. Attached is a pic.

TC3's are easy to get and I bet for the price of a widened TT01 you could buy a Tc3 and convert it. The HPI Mustang should fit just as well

i think SB7 is the TG10 axle

@ 67CamaroSS, thanks for the input, but I really dont know what a TC3 is. Could you please help me? What kind of wide kit would I need. Your camaro really looks very very nice. I love it. Its defently a dream car. If I ever win some money in the lottery I would buy myself a camaro with the 427 engine, and than crusing around with my kids and have a big big smile in my face :-)

Could you poste some pics without the body?

@ Willy Chang. I really dont know. Problem is, that the manual says that the part nr for the SB6 is 51006 but this is also the part nr for SB7. Makes it quite hard to order the right thing.

Are there really no chassis which come with 200mm track`?

The TC3 was made by Associated. It was replaced by the TC4 and the current TC5 but spares are still fairly easy to find on ebay. Ive seen several rolling chassis go for 50-75 and the wider arms and bones can be had for about 20 bucks. I dont have a picture of the chassis but I will take one soon.

I've also attached for your viewing pleasure my 'real' 67Camaro. It doesnt have a 427 but the little 327 works OK

Very very nice Camaro. Unfortunally, they are really really hard to come by here in Switzerland. You are running highjackers in the back, right? The 327 is also a nice engine. I makes almost the same loving sound. It was this sound I loved when I drove my corvette before I had my kids, and the one that my wifes thinks its too lound and noise :-)
