Has Production Stopped For The Jeep Wrangler Kit?

Is this kit out of production again? If not anyone heard any rumor of when production time will end? I want to get one before they are gone but not right this minute. I want to stretch it out as far as possible.

no concrete confirmation but i suspect that was a one-batch wonder too

wouldn't be impossible to find new unbuilt kits in coming years from private sellers even if the stores have all sold out

Tower Hobbies JUST listed the CC-01 Jeep Wrangler as discontinued. Is this kit going the way of the Dodo? LUCKILY I just purchased one off of R/C Planet. But was looking at Tower last night and it still listed the CC-01 Jeep as In Stock but Limited Quantities. They weren't kidding!!

:D I made a mention of the fact last week in my one post that it's showing discontinued on tamiyausa as well. So to everybody who wants one get it now. I can't believe that they are doing this.

Yeah Henk, I noticed that on TamiyaUSA's site also. I JUST bought one off of R/C Planet a couple of days ago and today it is no longer listed on their site. Doesn't even come up with a search. I must've gotten one of the last ones! Yes folks, buy it NOW if you still want one affordably.

This thing wasn't on the market what but a few months?

I was lucky enough to find (and apparently, smart enough to impulse-buy) a body set a few weeks ago. I'm amazed that they're not keeping this one around longer; it seems like an uncharacteristically dumb marketing move to discontinue it so quickly, considering the demand.

Is the CR01 version going away too? Maybe they were only allowed to make a certain number of them under their licensing agreement.

A couple of people have commented on this. It shows as discontinued on tamiyausa.com. So if you haven't got one yet get one before they are all gone!!!

Still can't understand why they would stop production so soon after the re re.

I'm glad I finally got mine. I have wanted one since the original release years ago. I had a gut feeling that the end was near for this one. Time to stock up on bodies!!!

Doh! Just got an email saying my order was sorrowfully canceled due to Tamiya's discontinuing of this kit :) Oh well, like the Allman Brothers song, 'Can't Miss What Ya Never Had'!! I ended up getting my next on my list, a Wild Willy 2000 :unsure:

Think I'll wait and see what body they put on the next CC-01 release, if it gets another release. PLEASE make it an FJ Cruiser hard plastic, molded shell!!!!! How cool would that be!?!

Yeah, I guess I have to resort to that. I got burned on the 'bay and have been reluctant to return. 50-60 bucks is painful to pay for shipping.

True but it's worth it when you know the value is just going to increase anyway over time
