Gepard Upgrades

hi,

was wondering if anyone can give advice on what are the essential upgrades for the Tamiya 1/16 RC Gepard tank? I'm looking to restore mine and make it tough enough to run through the dirt/grass without easily breaking apart.

I don't think Tamiya has any upgraded parts for the tanks, but I understand companies do make after market part for Tamiya tanks.

The only thing I can think of is to thread lock the nut and screw and make sure the track linkage are secured. Check for loose part after each run.

In my opinion, the running gears are quite tough the only parts that gets damaged or missing are the plastic parts like lights, smoke launcher, side mirrors, fake dampers for the road wheels.

Kenny Kong makes replacement tracks for the Gepard if memory serves, which are much more like the 1:1. I think you can obtain them via that AFV site.
