I might be an old dude, but this one goes beyond my experience...it looks like it might have been a "toy" car, but all metal parts, real servos, etc. All the electronics say "Brilliant"...can anyone ID it or tell me anything about it?

More info: The radio is an exact copy of the original Futaba wheel radio (2PL, is that it?) and is branded "LaTrax Corporation" in Garland, TX, uSA

You've practically answered the question yourself![:D] LaTrax sold the Corvette with radiogear as a complete kit. I've never seen it with any other body. The price for the (complete, even including battery and charger, I believe) LaTrax Corvette in Norway around 1980-1982 was about 200USD, just a little more than just the kit for some the most expensive Tamiya pan cars, so it was a lot of value for money for its time. Especially when taking into consideration that radio gear, battery and charger cost about 150USD when bought separately for a "car only" kit.

As a sidenote, I believe LaTrax Corvettes were used in the uS movie "Poltergeist", but I'm not quite certain.

That's funny Miramar. I always wondered what kind of cars they were in Poltergeist. I thought they were Tamiya Porsche 956s for some reason. I will have to watch that movie again and use the zoom feature on the DVD player.
