7.2V 2600mAh NiMH rechargeable battery pack, common size used as power packs in radio control model cars & boats, also used in many other applications such as bike lights etc.

This battery pack is constructed from 6 AA size NiMH (Nickel Metal-Hydride type) batteries, assembled side by side in a flat pack.

Band new, high quality cells, fitted with the standard "Tamiya" style 2-pin connector, on a very flexible, high current silicon lead. We can also supply this pack with different connectors (such as Deans etc) if required, just ask us for details.

So this little battery will give better performance than my 2000nimh powertech performance pack?, and it's half the size and weight. ;)

Not found the exact product, but I know that the Vapextech AA batteries have a much lower amp discharge rate than the Sub-C cells (normal packs).

I would normally expect to see this in 6v form as a receiver pack - 7.2v version is very weird!

I would expect this pack to only allow say 10amps, compared to the 35amps on their Sub-C packs...

Just a guess without a direct link to specs

It will give you nowhere near the same performance than a cheap pack. It's made of AA cells and it's designed for the little cheap toy r/cs, not 1/10th scale hobby grade stuff.

Thanks for the reply lemming, but not sure what any of that means :D ,

So not as good as a standard pack then?, I kinda expected that but thought I'd ask. ;)

Sorry about that - not clear at all... ;)

Basically, it probably won't supply enough power for even a standard motor in a 10th scale vehicle (happy to be corrected if I'm wrong on that).

Not sure on the requirements for the QD models though.

Perfectly clear just too technical for an idiot to understand :D

I have a Ezrun system on the way for my Qd monster bug, might have to look at lipo, sell a kidney perhaps? ;)

Nice - brushless is so much easier to maintain ;)

I've recently gone the lipo route, and am beginning to wonder if I should have gone life (lower voltage, but no need for a low voltage cut-off and quicker recharge times).

Ho hum - there's always going to be a choice and I'll always wonder if I did the wrong thing. :D

Loving the Lipo performance gains though! Definitely better acceleration (after the initial punch off the line) and much longer run-times for the same mah rated packs.

All the best and let us know how the EZrun goes in the QD!

Thought I'd drag this topic up,

I am looking to conceal a standard six cell pack into my Brushless Qd, I was looking at the crawler packs thinking that I can squeeze a 3+3 pack in there,

I am planning to use an old pack and resolder the cells with wire,

Will this work?,

What gauge wire should I use?

Thanks again folks. :o

Hiya Wolfdog :-)- its been a while lol,

Last year I was building myself a stick based crawler that had a 20mm tube as its central 'stick' the idea being i would fill it up with 2500mah AA cells - I did this and it was undrivable. The radio gear worked fine (servos nice and fast) but as soon as I wanted to go anywhere it just whimpered and coughed lol

I had a chat to the guys that ran Modelpower and they said a AA battery would never have enough grunt - no matter what the capacity is. I do know quite a few crawlers use 2/3 C size cells cos they are nice and small to hide on axles etc. Ive seen a couple of these running and they seem to go well enough so maybe thats the answer?

Then again my Mini T has a pack made from GP2100 AAs and that goes like stink lol

Thanks bugjammer, yes I might just break up an old pack and see if I can squeeze it in, still having too much fun with the battery strapped to the underneath of the car.

Thanks for the reply.
