There have been a few posts on this subject before.

There is no EASY way to do it,nitro fuel does remove it to a degree but if you dont have a nitro car by the time you have brought the fuel you might as well brought a new bodyshell if it is still available.

Also the nitro method does need quite a bit of elbow grease to shift it and some lexan paints are supposed to be nitro proof so you will be at it a long time!

I should think so,it melts the hard plastic bodies.

Even if it didn't melt it I would have though it would at least discolour it and turn it cloudy.

I recently strpped my old Ascona shell,. 1st I got a spray can of Isopropanol (sp?) alcohol ,. liberally sprayed the inside of the shell then put inside a plastic bag to stop it evaporating.

Then after half an hour or so I got stuck in with the rounded edge of a teaspoon - I found that the paint softens enough to scape it off , you have to repeat this lots though due to the alcohol evaporating,.

I did try the nitro fuel method,. I used a 20% mix,. found it didnt really do much at all,..until I painted it on the inside of the shell then left it on a shelf in the garage for 2-3 weeks,.(sort of got fed up with it[:)]) ,. had another go with the teaspoon and the paint was very soft and came off very easily.

I have my Audi Quattro shell to strip in the future,.I think I will just try the nitro + leave for ages method on its own this time.
