Looks like Traxxas beat everyone again in getting a 4wd short course truck out there by late December. How long do you think it will take for Associated, HPI, Losi, and the others to come up with something? Will Tamiya finally get into the market segment?

I got burned last time. Bought the Slash and then found out Associated was coming out with the SC10. Ended up buying both but have to say I prefer the SC10. Having run identical motor, esc, and tires in each of them, the SC10 just handles and puts down the power better.

I am debating if I should just get a Slash 4WD when it comes out or have some patience and wait for Associated to build a big plastic chassis version of the B44 or an extreme mod to the TC4/TC3 platform to go up against it.

You could also convert an SC8 to brushless ;) Ok I know, it will be 1/8th scale, not 1/10th, but it is 4WD... :o I think the other brands will stop here and not make 4WD versions of it, actually...

Im happy with the news of a 4wd slash, but i would still keep my 2wd slash, im sure all the other brands will follow suite for sure.

as for tamiya, it would be great if they did but the corr trucks have been out for awhile now so cant see it somehow.

Looks like Ofna is building a competitor based on one of their nitro buggy platforms with an electric conversion.

Have to agree that the price for the 4wd Slash really isn't that far out of line given that it essentially has the brushless upgrade and 2.4gHz radio. I spent over $200 upgrading my Slash's motor/esc and receiver which would put the price in the $400 range even after selling the stock parts.

Traxxas should have included the big bore shocks though. I don't think I ever got a full day of running the thing without blowing out one of the stock plastic ones.
