Are there aftermarket dampers for the Lunchbox and Midnight Pumpkin that help to smooth out the ride some, or is this just a characteristic of the trucks. Or does anyone have any suggestions on it?

Just add the Tamiya CVA shocks, these will improve the handling enough. Once the Pumpkin has these on it's a fun drive and less bouncy than it would be with the stock shocks. Like DJTheo says, don't expect it to start handling like a modern buggy, it never will. But I found that once I put the CVA dampers on mine it was a lot better, and a good fun drive too.

Thanks for the help guys, dont want it to be like a modern buggy of course, but I would like to try and see what I can do with my runner Pumpkin to make it a little easier to drive, thanks guys! [:D]

I glued the tyres. Gluing the front ones shouldn't be a problem, but for the rears you might want to use rubber bands on the rims to hold them in place whilst allowing a little slip to protect the gearbox from rough landings.
