Just bought these babies!

Still in test mode trying to test out all of the aspects of the fitment and all that.

So far so good exept that the balls in the diff have a loose fit :( I well see how it goes.

Specs-

-B-foot ball diff (like the thorp) comes with counter gear

- Gussing they are alluminum?

-$37 USD to the door.

Looks good.

Is it just the gears? What about the ball diff? What type are you supposed to use with it?

Yeah, it is the ball diff gear and counter gear that you get. You use these as an "upgrade" from the THORP style ball differential, which I already had. I ran the thorp style diff with all of the thorp accessorys until I destroyed the counter gear. So I bought these and used all of my other thorp parts again.

All right. Got in some packs with the gears installed. Didn't run right at all.....

Soooo. Broke it down again.. and it seems as if the counter gear( where the pinion runs) was dragging on the outdrive houseing for the Thorp Ball diff..hmmm ok? Almost destroyed it, but its savable. To solve the problem I shaved a small amount of material from the outdrive and it all works good now. Except I blew a fuse on my ESC and I have to wait to get another fuse... Oh well B)

Might be an idea to get a Thermal (resettable) fuse ?

Just a thought.

Oh, No worries I knew it was going to blow, I just wanted to test it and I overgeared becasue that was the only pinion i had.. Im going bushless to so no biggie

Cool, just keep in mind that these types of gears are designed to be used with the thorp style differential and nothing else.

i still cant find a thorp ball diff

Thorp shut down around 20 years ago.

You will have to keep watching ebay, give it a year or two and one will pop up eventually - with a 3 figure price tag to go with it if its new.
