Recommended Posts

Here is my Modified CC-01

I've Taken the risk of serious mods and luckily its gone very well for this one :D

I have drilled through the chassis's wheel arches to give it some tlt shocks and a little more travel.

Check out my D.I.Y shock tower's!!!

More to be done still, I will keep this updated as i go along.

Very nice looking project. Where did you get the shell from, is it a toys r us one?

Colin.

Hi,

The shell is of a 1/10 scale toy yes.

I had to file the arches out alot to fit over my mudslinger tyres though.

Have a look here to see work on the arches http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?...651&st=1620 About half the way down the page...

;) Wow Dan, that looks so good so far! I am still pondering that Rangie shell and what best to do with it. My lazy side says, use the TA01/02 and put huge bling wheels on it, spray it a chrome type colour and make a proper Yank style gangsta cruiza. My other Landy loving side wants to do something like what you are busy with. So let's see which side wins.

Brilliant work there so far.

Cheers

Henk ;)

very nice mate. showed my dad and he loved it

chris

Thanks for the possitive comments guys! :)

Are you ready to see the next stage? :D

I've gone "nuts" im sure... Hacked up the chassis a little more!

Cramed in a "HPI Wheelie King - Gear Reduction Unit"

Look at the gearbox cover as i have cut the entire lip off. Aswell as removing part of the battery tray with "pliers"

Here is the pics,

Steering servo has had to be moved over the the other side now as the gear reduction is so bulky, the servo would not go back in its original position....

The blue arm will need a hole drilling to get the angle correct where a 3m screw goes in. I just hope it will be strong enough as there is already a hole close-by.

Thanks for Looking - Enjoy! "or laugh" :P

I like where this is going. That is going to be a super cool Rover when it's done. Keep us posted and can't wait to see the body when done.

You can check my progress here.

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...43&id=22744

I have changed the wheels to the ones of the NSX racer. That sorted the wheels sticking out so far. It tucked the wheels in by 10mm a side. That sure looks a lot better but the wheels will have to be modified to look more scale or I will have to get other donor wheels. I'm waiting for some brass tubing to sort out a rollcage and roof rack. Will hopefully have something new to post soon. Any ideas on scale looking shocks for me?

Henk :)

Happy New Year All.

Been a while since my last Log-In.

Planing to pull this project out of the cupboard and get it finnished this year.

Since i started this all the parts i modded/created are now commercialy availible from GPM, Junfac & RC Damper on ebay. (see the date when this topic started) 3 YEARS!

Nice parts availible from junfac...

Rangerover body has a long way to come. Is the scale right? Looks a bit small i think. I had plans to fit SDI flared arches, but theyre massive arches for this shell.

My 4-link idea is not to great, now ive seen the junfac of course.
