I only just noticed post-23151-1257879909.gif, so the QD Monster beetle and the Wild mini 4WD beetle had a different shell?,

This interests me because I have a fibreglass baja bodykit for my 1:1 car but it's not the bug eye'd version, the headlights are in the wings.

Should I Tamiya pimp my 1:1 car? or maybe do a scorcher replica and save up for the bug eyed front end?

Does that make any sense?,

Hmm interesting question, Id heard the reasoning behind the Bug eyed front end was to get the heavy headlamps onto something a bit more solid so they didnt bounce about. My old Baja had headlights in the wings (it was a Kingfisher Kustoms kit) and I never had any problems with bouncing, mind you the most off road it ever went was tescos car park B)

I was going to fit a Bug eyed front but there was a problem with the construction and use regulations, they are too close together for the official tape measure - but this was nearly 15 years ago and things may have changed - look how close together tractor headlights are :P

I'd do a bit of research and hold out for a bug eyed kit - way cooler :(

PS Check this out for a wild Baja - its got suspension from some weird short course trophy truck and a built small block chevy :P

That's one crazy Baja bugjammer, I won't be going that far!, think you are right about the regs regarding the bug eyed kit, It is likely that the bug eyed kit may cause problems with the law, I have been thinking about doing it for ages and now with the re-release of the Scorcher it seems like an ideal time, Do you think Tamiya would sponser it?. Maybe provide decals in 1:1 scale? B)
