Hi, I have a couple of questions regarding the m03 mini.

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction in regards to fitting 2 drivers into the mini m03 chassis/body. I have had a look through the gallerys and have not seen any minis fitted with drivers so wondering if it is difficult to do? Im looking for something similar to the TB01 Impreza cockpit set and was wondering if that would fit, or if not which cockpit set with 2 drivers works with the mini body?

I also cant find the colour i need for my body in the Tamiya range of polycarbonate paints, i was wondering what other range of paints work with the body? do halfords car paints work for example?

last question, what bearings do i need to buy?

Thanks alot

The Tamiya M05 ball bearing set work with the M03 and costs very little. Don't buy the Tamiya M03 ball bearing set, it's more expensive and you get fewer bearings than the M05 set, not many people are aware of this.

Pactra paints - work pretty well with lexan.

M05 uses 1050 in rear knuckles, 1150 in front.

M03s with "lightweight" (aka Swift) suspension use 1050 both front & rear.

Older M03s use 1150 all round.

M05 bearing kit will give you 4 extra 850s but they ain't that necessary for spares;

imho more important to get corrent amt of 1050 or 1150 for your car.

TC member Scollins made some Sand Scorcher interiors with driver and passenger. They do fit in an M03 Mini with some fiddling.

I don't think he's making them anymore, but they are out there... Maybe someone has one they'd part with.

Cheers,

Skottoman

I just bought the Tamiya M05 BB set a few weeks ago, I know what is included. That said what does the Suzuki Swift have anything to do with what I'm saying or what the OP is asking?

As I said, the M05 BB set is the same as the M03 BB set except you get 4 more BBs and it costs less to boot. Instead of trying to "correct" me maybe you should offer a "better" solution to the guy's question.

So quick to show off your smarts, yet ignoring Facts of...

Swift & later M03s use 1050 BBs... which above BB kits won't provide if OP needed a full set. (Luckily car kit supplies 4pcs.)

Tamiya M03 BB set 53348 consists of BLUE RUBBERSHIELDED Tamiya bearings... these blueys are much superior to the generic steelsheilds of M05 set.

Some ppl buy 53348 & 53292 just to get blueys for other cars, you get what you pay for.

If price is main concern just go buy generic hobby-grade bearing sets off fleaBay, they won't be any better or worse than tamiya-labelled steelshields.

& slight correction to my earlier post...

M05 car kit uses 12x 1150 & 6x 850

M05PRO chassis kit uses 8x 1150 4x 1050 6x 850

I always buy my bearings from the same place. RCBearings, he has his own site or you can go through Ebay. His prices are good and if he doesn't have the kit listed you want email him and he will make a kit for you.

You keep yapping up and down but you still have not provided a solution to the question being asked in the OP. The guy has a MINI, he doesn't need stupid blue seal bearings. Regardless not many people are going to waste their time picking stupid blue bearings from Tamiya kits...LOL. If they wanted good bearings they'd get BOCA ceramic ultra seals. As I said before and I'll say it AGAIN, all he needs is the M05 BB set. If his kit needs 1050 he could always buy individual bearings to add to the M05 BB set. You're just making it more complicated than it needs to be man.

Have I read that correctly? $60 for some bearings? Even $24 for some!

Buy the M03 set from www.rcbearings.co.uk as subsea suggests... for £6 ! the M05 set costs £7

The extra four 850 bearings found in the M05 bearing set arent worth the extra quid IMO unless your going to break those found in the gear box, which is unlikely.

Thanks for your advice, i have bought some bearings from RC bearings and just bought a cockpit set off ebay which i will have to trim a bit to fit.

Paint also ordered so 1/10th version of my new 1967 mini is on well on its way.
