Awesome info, thanks man!

Seems like I don't need to really get anything else.

I shall print this post and slip a copy into the front page of my manual!

I actually forgot to add one thing... The Diff balls can be replaced for Tungsten Carbide ones (53124/OP124), on the Hopup layout packaging the Dyna Storm was listed amongst many others using a ball diff. They can withstand higher pressures, so overtightening your diff is less likely, they don't warp under pressure like the steel ones, and they are more resistant to wear of all the friction that's involved. Nowadays though, Silicon Nitride diff balls are the common choice for people looking for tough diff balls (I don't think the material existed back in 1992, or wasn't affordable for the RC Sport).

Both sets set you back a bit of money it seems - considering the size of the part - but they are well worth buying, they give me the assurance that I can drive my Dyna Storm on tarmac with the tight diff setting it has, and that I don't have to check it often to see if it's still in one piece. For a shelfer it's not necessary, but a fun bit to have in the car, as you then know it is fully hopped up

For the best performing OEM hopup, get the TRF ceramic diff balls.

For Period Correct OEM hopup, get the Tamiya Tungsten Carbide diff balls.

Otherwise any 3mm SiNi ceramic diff balls will work great. Ceramic is almost half the weight of the Carbide balls, and many times harder to boot...

lol, as it happens I have a few bags of 53124 from my various TFE's although as this will be on the shelf I think I'll just use the kit ones... might throw a bag in the box just to keep them together.

Well I need to dig up my camera and post up pics on how the DS turned out. I wound up not being able to get a hold of NIMROD and ran the car stock. I used a Brushless Novak set to power the car. The car is so smoothe. I was running it last year at an indoor track in Cali. The track had a few big jumps and the surface was packed clay. Ideal for the DS. I never raced it but it was a fun car to run and it appeared to have the same poise and speed as the new wipper snappers, that is until I broke the rear bulk heads!

And they arrived, now I just need the kit!

Easy trade with Origineelreclamebord, thank you.

Nice 94!!! She is one of my favorites!! The 801xt bit me hard, the DS is sitting on the shelf waiting for her time again.
