I've come across these in my search for Fox wheels. I'm just not willing to pay $103 plus shipping for wheels.

Alas they are for a Wild One, rather than a Wild Willy.

WW1 or WW2? I have never seen any for the WW1. On my WW2 I took a set of see's midnight pumpkin wheels and milled the back of the rears down to fit to the WW2 axle.

Earlier in the year I came across one Wild Willy 1 with metal wheels though couldn't work out what they were from The WW was being sold on Ebay, but I am 99% sure that I also saw some photos here on TC though I spent some time earlier today and can't find them. Think it was a gold colour WW and from somewhere in Europe, but not the UK......... Hope this might jog someone's memory. For such a popular model, and as the box art picture has silver wheels, I am surprised no one has ever made any.

If you got a set of WW1 wheels (plastic)

you can send them to Loaded and he put chrome paint on them!!!

Paint sticks to the white nylon quite well, any auto paint with plasticisers (suitable for plastic bumpers) works well.

Silver or gold from a rattlecan ok too. If you don't like it, simply dip in acetone and paint falls off.

Wheels on WW1 are well protected so you'd be trying hard to get them scratched in running.

Alternately you could try dye them too.

Real mirror chrome or gold, that's specialist coatings.

I considered making some in alloy, but because preferably you need to do 8 pieces, it requires quite a lot of work and the price would be quite high to get the quality right. Chrome plating stock wheels is also expensive (partly because of low batch numbers and partly because of the stock price, I pay anything upto $100 per set of clean proper new on the tree wheels for the Wild Willy)

That said I have a few in stock, although I don't advertise them. I just did a set for Wrecked, he is delighted and there will be pictures soon, I think.

Here is a picture of one set (hastily done, sorry for the quality of the photo - the wheels are superb)

They are proper box art Wild Willy wheels and the finish is more like the box art than aluminium alloy wheels would be, unless they were mirror finished as well.

What about Rad22 alloys ? He does all the SS/RR/Ranger wheels and are great. I am sure if you ask nicely he could knock some up.

Radek is too busy to make these, I am sure, although I will ask him. They would most likely be very expensive as well, as his quality is very high indeed. Also, they would not be chromium plated/box art shiny wheels, but brushed aluminium, which is also nice, but not box art.
