Hi there,

I was wondering how rare the Tamiya C.P.R. unit is? You know the receiver and ESC in one. The unit was made by Futaba for Tamiya and was released somewere around 1987, type: CPR-P100F. Later the C.P.R. unit was changed into the CPR-P160F with the gold heatsink.

When i looked the Tamiya RC 30 years Perfect album it tells me that the release year of the CPR-P160F unit was 1993. When i looked at the Tamiya cars in that same book, the last car that was photographed with the CPR-P160F unit instaled, was the 58300-ABT Audi TT-R. This car was released in 2002.

All this info tells me that Tamiya sold/used/produced the CPR-P160F unit for almost 10 years. Nowdays the unit is only found at a certain Ebay Seller form Hong-Kong. He sells them for big money.

How on earth is it possible, that the CPR-P160F unit, that was sold for allmost 10 years is found nowhere? Also the Adscpec transmitter systems are very rare.

Please help me with your thoughts.

Yes it is possibe to be gone from stores. This is an very specialized product produced in relatively limited quantity. I managed to purchase a P160f from Japan just about the time they dissapeared. It still cost me over $120. I ended up installing it in my Dynastorm and found out first hand how much they suck to drive. The brakes magically apply themselves a moment after you let off the throttle. Also reverse only has one speed, which is not always the correct amount to get you out of trouble.

If you want one for display, then by all means spend the money.

PS: There is also a P80f that came with the later Adspec Sport system. Looks just like the others but has a silver heat sink. I think it's just a 101BK electronics inside.

Has anyone heard of a cpr-01 esc/receiver, cant find any info on this one, it came with a tt01 chassis audi tt body, must have been rtr i guess, it also cam with a expec ttu-01 tranny and tsu-01 servo all in really nice condition, can anyone help identify this unit for me.

CPR01 is from the first series of expert built TT01 cars. It's only good with the included silver can motor, and a special version of the Sport Tuned motor only found in Europe. This is because the CPR01 has spade connectors on the motor instead of the standard bullets. Pretty much a waste of time if you ask me (unless your car came with one). Also they bare no resembelance to the other CPR units.

yeh it has the standard motor with spades fitted, i woundered what it was as it didn't look like any of the other cpr units mentioned, cheers for the info, might aswell bin it lol.

Don't do that! Just put a post about it in the for sale section and someone will buy it from you eventually! It's a shame to bin things that someone else might be really wanting a while from now.

Best Regards,

ARG

Oh, so true. I have a 160, used to run it, now relegated to the shelf for exactly this reason.

HI, yes CTY300 does have some CPR units for sale and also my parents run an ebay shop which also has them in stock and they have CPR100, CPR160 and a tamtech CPR set available all new in box (ALL their parts are NIB/NIP)

I know someone bought 3 of them from them on wednesday but i think they still have about 10 left although i think only 1 is listed currently, just ask them.

Try their shop on ebay its the largest vintage tamiya shop in europe.

Hi there, new to this forum, just getting back into this hobby after venturing into nitro for many years.

I have just got hold of an old Mclaren mp4/6 F102 chassis (58104) and have been searching for a CPR unit for it.

Would you be interested in selling it on.

Cheers.
