Corpse Thrower 16 Posted December 29, 2009 Lets do a bit more.. Step 44, the body. Interestingly, the wheel arches are pre-cut, so its just a matter of lopping off the bottom in a fairly straight line. Step 44 done. Body cut, ready for washing and masking up: Now to start the hard bit.....painting. Looks like this will be difficult to get right for a numpty such as myself, but I'll give it a good go. Corpse Thrower 16 Posted January 1, 2010 OK, the home stretch now. Here is the body as painted. Very hard body to do, much easier masking it if you do the black first, then the silver, then the white, and the red last. And here it is after stickering. Finished at last!! And that's it!! The Monster racer is done I hope you've enjoyed this thread as much as I enjoyed the build. I love building the vintages, even more so than the new ones. Its just something about ripping into a 20 year old kit that I can't explain. I love it, and I'll be doing more of them. Cheers!

I was also glad for the heads up on the painting of the shell, as i have one NIB waiting for paint sometime!!. Did you spray all the colours or did you use brush on paints for some of the colours?. Colin.

berman 5315 Posted January 2, 2010 I agree, what a great read! You can tell your enthusiasm in the way you laid everything out (both the hilux build AND the thread). Cant wait to acquire one to compliment my K/C! We need a drool emoticon...
