I know its probably in the wrong forum but here goes.Has anyone else notice a desperate lack of grip from these tyres? On the living room carpet the back wheels on my scania seem to slide so much the whole tractor cab crabs and reversing is nigh on impossible. Also ive just run it on the road and going over a slight bump that my FF-02 pug 306 never even used to notice it struggled.Admittedly its a bit wet outside but i was expect better performance. Is there anything i can do with the tyres or does it need a trailer on it to give better traction?

A trailer helps as it puts extra weight over the driven axles.

Try roughening the tyres with some sand paper to take the smooth finish off, or Carson (might not be them!) make some replacement tyres that work a bit better

Thanks.I`ll give the sand paper a try first while i have a search for the other ones. Is it just due to them being new and having the sheen still on them you reckon?

No, the kit tyres ARE crappy, even though they get old.. A good remedy can be filling them with steel"grain", used for sand-blasting, instead of sand, as it VERY heavy when "compacted" into the tyres. (shaking them slightly while filling with the stuff)..

Better yet, Carson has some VERY good terrain-type truck tyres, called "Fulda Crossforce", i have had them on nearly all my trucks, and the beat the Tamiya-tires EASILY, both in looks and performance, due to softer compound-rubber and more aggressive tread. These, combined with weight inside, and filling the diff with the heavy-duty grease used in the FG-type 1/5 scale racers gives very good power, even on grass fields.

Cheers..
