Hi folks.Just a quickie about these trailers. Whats the best thing to do with the deck planks? i was going to give them a sanding and then give them a once over but whats best to do it with? a light varnish or yaught varnish or something,or does tamiya have anything specific for doing it? dont like the idea of leaving them as they are because they look untreated to be honest

cheers

hi m8 i have a custom trailer that i made , to transport my tank and i used hard wood planks .

and i just sanded then down for a natural look but if you were gonna varnish it i would water it down a bit

and use a matt finish . or oil it with danish oil ?

I extended my tailer so couldn't use the planks, instead using some 2mm marine ply. I stained it then used a couple of coats of sanding sealer which protects it, waterproofs it but doesn't give it a shine. That was almost 5 years ago and is still looking good today, with regular use too. I have a (mostly) boat model shop near me where I got the ply and the sanding sealer.
