glow plugs

what glow plg should i buy for the tgs engine as it is almost out and what heat range is it (cold, hot)

Medium or Medium-Hot is the usual one for this engine. Watch the brand though - for some strange reason the Model Technics plugs seem to upset the idling on the TGS engines.

On the subject of glow plugs what would be a good plug for a TG10mk1?

Basically, until very recently when Tamiya saw that there was a market for a range of plugs, all the cars were spec'd to use the 41003 plug which is just a Medium heat plug. I've sold 100's of these to go in everything from TG10 and TGX through to Terra Crusher and they work OK in all - except the odd Terra Crusher which will need a colder plug at random - equally though I sell loads of budget "no name" Chinese plugs at half the price which are just marked "Medium Hot" and they also work fine.

The only ones I've tried which don't seem to work properly are the black ones from Model Technics (heat range didn't seem to matter) but I could never work out why that was.

The stanadard Tamiya glow plug (at least fot the TNX but should be the same for the others) is an OS #8 (medium), just beware that its a short one as there exist also medium ones with longer body (thread) which need more shimming.
