Hello all,

I have an old Yokomo YZ 10 from 1993 that needs a manual so that I can find and order some parts. Apart from that, I misplaced the motor that it came with while moving houses and none of my Tamiya motor pinions seem to mesh with the spur gear. Now I am not an engineer ;) and don't have a clue as what the "pitch" is or how many teeth the pinion had :) , or if a pinion came with the car kit at all. All I can say is that the spur gear has 81 teeth (it has 81T on the side). Can any of the experts help out a confused fellow?

Thanks,

Anand

It takes a 48dp pinion. Think my Yokomo Dog came with an 18 tooth pinion.

Good luck with ordering parts for it, Yokomo buggy parts are very rare :(.

igbandy,

thanks a lot, will a Tamiya pinion of the same 48 pitch & 18 teeth work?

Thanks,

Anand

Do Tamiya make any 48dp pinions? I thought all of theres where metric pitch apart from a few with 32dp gears.

If your pinion is a Tamiya AV pinion its 0.6 metric, it looks like 48dp but it isnt. And it will damage the spur gear.

Hello again,

I have no technical knowledge regarding pitches or gearing except that they have teeth :D ! I just wanted to know if these will work in the Yokomo YZ 10!

Thanks again,

Anand

Hello again igbandy,

as you said the 18 T pinion works just fine, have'nt tried the 19T yet. I have just started using a Mabuchi RS540 Sport tuned in the Yokomo YZ 10. I am currently working on some mods and also, are there any wheel adaptors so I can use regular wheels & Tires such as the ones on a Boomerang or more recent wheels? is there anywhere I can download any copies of the manual?

Thansk,

Anand
