Ansmann Racing Battery Is ****!

Hello all,

Just wanted to vent , I had bought two Ansmann Racing 7.2V 4500 mAh NIMH batteries recently from Stargek Singapore. Right from the first charge, it appeared that one of them was not charging fully as the charger indicated as if the battery was already full, also when discharging, the rc car would not go at its full speed. Just today while trying to recharge, just one of the cells was getting far hotter than the others which were not even warm about 10 minutes into the recharge. Looks like a bad cell, the other battery seems to be doing fine. So my search is on for some decent 7.2V Batteries. Know any good cheap ones?

I run with a 4200mah battery by CoreRC I think. Not quite cheap, but still they are absolutely holy. Oh and it's NiMH

I'd suggest Vapextech - they make good packs for the money - their 3700mah 7.2v Nimh packs are £15 each, or £41 for three

Are Vapex available in Singapore ? Or is the OP based somewhere else ?

I had a look on e bay earlyer as i am looking at getting a couple of batteries soon.

At the moment on ebay a 3300mah Vapextech is just under 15 quid delivered and a 4300mah is just over 21quid delivered.There is plenty of other much cheaper batteries on e bay but quite a few people have recomended Vapextech.

We use Vapex cells at our local club as a control battery in one of our classes - from that most of us now use them in nearly all our cars, a good cheap battery
