I've found a NIB TB-02 chassis with ball bearings and alloy prop shaft for $100 and was wondering if the chassis itself is better than the TT-01....is it?

The TB-02 is better quality for sure but the ball diffs are really fiddly and there isn't really any replacement option. I have been very frustrated by that single issue.

Personally, the TB-02 is the only Tamiya I wish I hadn't bought just because the diffs have made me so angry. Otherwise it really is a beautiful car, especially for the give-away prices they are selling for.

I agree, the TB02 is a great car that can be hopped up, handles great, but the DIFFS!

I've rebuilt them 10 times by now! Of course I have a 4600kv Castle brushless in it, and it keeps breaking diff screws!!! MADDENING!

Although I've been running some HPI diff screws that are stronger than the Tamiya ones, still break stuff though.

When it's running, it's a great 1/10 scale car, of course I'd always pick anything other than a TT01.

Cheers,
