I've been having a problem with my WD. The rear gearbox clicks when under a load such as acceleration. It's the only time it does it and it seems to be the first gear in the gearbox, the one that contacts the pinion gear. I'm running 18 tooth pinions and I have the motor mounted in the correct location. I have taken the gearbox apart and checked everything but everything looks like it should. I've even checked the mesh between the pinion and first gear and it looks correct. But when I put it back together it clicks and I can tell it will strip eventually. The rear diff is locked so it's not the diff. I've replaced all the gears even though none were missing teeth or anything but it still does it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

or maybe it's learning a bushman dialect..... :)

I had a similar problem and found it was the pinion that looked 100% right but the pitch was ever so slightly of and it caused the weird noises. New gear and the problem was fixed.
