Build Manual- Official Copies

Was just wondering if anyone had heard of, or if there was such a thing as an "official copy" of a build manual from tamiya? I won one on fleabay & this is what it was called but when it turned up it just looked like a good photo copy of an original. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are no official/authorised copies, only genuine manuals that came in a kit or as a spare part. Anything else is an unauthorised copy. You've been fleeced with a colour photocopy.

It's not even in colour! It's black & white. Sounds a bit sus to me. Paid as much for it as I should have for an original I might add. US$28 for an egress manual.

I have to agree with the other chap, you have been fleeced, I would personally lodge a paypal claim for "Not as described" and then ask the seller to show you a copy of his letter from Tamiya "Authorising him" to make copies of original manuals (albeit in black and white).

Get your money back and leave appropriate feedback.

I just had a look at the fleabay ad again & he's calling it an official copy, reprint. He was/is a member on Tamiyaclub as well. Going to send an inquiring email I think.

Maybe what he means is "copy/reprint of official manual" and hasn't worded it well, or rather intentionally misworded it to sound better than it is.

Either way, there is nothing official about it unless he has an authorisation letter from tamiya (very hard to get!), although i managed to get one from kyosho ;-) it did take 18 months but its worth it.
