I want a knight hauler. I'm going to the spalding model truck show on Feb 21st. Will there be any companies selling them there where I can get a cheaper deal maybe. I want to try to get enough money together to buy the mfu as well as many of you on here have said its much easier to fit while building the truck rather than retro-fit.

I am building a King and got the MFU from Hong Kong, saved around £80

yes I've seen those on ebay but was worried about buying from hong kong. The Knight hauler is about £70 cheaper and the mfu about £80 cheaper as you say. Were you pleased with the delivery and service etc????

Oversea ebay shops will be cheaper, but one may want to consider the service and help available from LHS. Also, the possbility of Customs charges if they open up you package. You will have to weight the pros and cons of shopping locally vs overseas. I would say 9 out of 10 times will be the cost plus the reputation of the seller wins out in the end.

If you are going to the show, you may want to go at the last day and see if you can strike a deal with the vendor as they may not want to lug inventory back, unless there is another show they have to go to.

If your local dealers cannot help you - buy from Germany or Asia via eBay.

Generally, it is good to support local hobbyshops and benefit from the support they offer. However, when it comes to the less common models such as the 1:14 truck range and 1:16 tank range, most local shops are of no help at all. Why, because they have no experience with them. If you go for a mainstream model, sure, but unless they are specialized in trucks, most are useless when it comes to support.

Here, however, and on several other sites you will get all the support you need for you particular model. The most impressive sites are in German and not English as one may suspect. And no, here, nobody frowns upon those who import all their stuff! We are like Hard Rock Café - Love all, serve all! :)
