Hi,

My tiny Grasshpper buggy arrived today. I know a few on the forum have them. I wondered if anyone had dismantled them yet and starting modding them.

Years ago I had a Tomy Bit Char-G and its very similar and you could add more cells, replace the cells with better ones. Loads of stuff.

As anyone done anything yet?

I am going to see if my peak charger has a low enough setting to charge the cell.

The Avante tool box one comes with a high speed gear set.

My cell is dead...only takes a 10 sec charge. I guess its probably been sat in storage for ages in Hong Kong.

Ordered a new cell, but a higher capacity NiMH one.

I had a few Bit-CharGs a few years ago - great fun - put the fastest motor in them, better tyres etc. Lost them all when I moved though

I would like to get my little Avante to go faster its a bit dissapointing I got it for my kitten to chase in my shed but he trashed it so I moth balled it until I could do something about the speed.

Might have to invest in the Avante tool box get that high speed gear

The hard part is finding the batteries to fit. The electrics will take 2.4 volts with ease and it doubles the speed. If you can find a battery half the size of the standard one, you can just fit two end to end and you get twice the speed. You need a different solution to charge them though.
