Lrp X11 17.5

Recommended Posts

I am about to maby place a bid for an lrp x11 17.5.

Have any of you used this motor?

If so how does it compare to say nosram/lrp 15.5's?

My club has a 27t/15.5 brushless limit for the stock class and at the minite the nosram is the motor to use.

Doesn't Nosram use LRP motors with a different label? If so, the 17.5 will be the same, but slower than the 15.5...

well kindof.

I lost the bid anyway but still...

the nosram one i mentioned was dragon which is a cheapy motor (bonded rotor)

and the lrp one was a x11 which is a sintered rotor one.

oh well, i suppose ill just get a nosram 15.5 or something along those lines

But thanks anyway

For brushless, the motor is not necessarily the important part. The ESC does all the magic with dynamic timing and boost. Be sure to get yourself one of these Stock racing ESC and you'll be right on the front lines with any good motor. LRP SPX Stock Spec, or the soon to be SXX stock spec are some the finest/easiest to use. The Tekin RS & RS Pro are currently on top as well, but they require constant software updates and hooking to a computer is a must. I think even Speed Passion has a pro-stock ESC comming out with the same options.

Personaly, I would go with the Novak Ballistic motor. It has swappable stators that allow you to run different numbers of turns for a lot less money than a whole motor. The stators cost around $35. They also feature adjustable timing and the sensor wire that plugs into the side of the endbell instead of sticking straight out the end. Very nice motor...
