Mechanical To Electronic Sc

My friend at work needs some advice on upgrading his car from mechanical to esc.

He says the motor is the 1 that came with the car when he bought it quite a few years back.

He is looking for a cheep esc on ebay what advice can i give him on what to look for?

How easy is it to set up aswell?Is it just a matter of connecting everything up and away we go or is there more to it?

Any advice for him will be much appreciated.

You can get a TEU-101 on ebay for about $20. Plug and play. Rated for 25t motors. Should be ok with 23t - probably.... Will run stock motors fine.

If his motor is a lower turn [hotter motor] than 23t, he should consider something else, but its a great ESC for mild hop up or standard motors.

The cheepest TEU-101 we have found on ebay is about £18 delivered.

He say he dosnt really want to spend that much.

I dont think he is that into radio controlled cars.He only got his old car out of the loft because i have been talking about them lately.

I am waiting until he gets bored of it and then offer to buy it off him.He didnt even know what the car was untill i told him.Its a Baja King in pretty much imaculate condition.

In a few months hopefully it will be mine and i will be definately updating it with an esc.
