I am a new member and I urgently need the following info:

  1. The instructions on the Torque splitter unit.
  2. The instructions on the Carbon Battery plate. How will this work? How does the battery gets fixed?
  3. To tighten my drive belt a bit, can I go for a bigger pulley either up front or at the back? E.g. 15T front and 16T back?
  4. Anyone knows where to buy a Tamiya Heat sink. Is there a site that does a lot of TA03 parts??
  5. Then the upper carbon plate for a TA03R ARF? The one where the servo sits on top of the battery. Is this available from someone? Even if secondhand.

Any help will really be appreciated.

Regards

I don't know the answers for some of your other questions but for question #3 you could use larger pulleys but it will change your gear ratios. Normally to tighten the belt you're supposed to adjust the belt tensioner. Also if you change the pulley you should have the same pulleys front and rear, otherwise one end is going to be working harder than the other.

For #4 are you looking for a geniune Tamiya heatsink or are you looking for a heatsink from any manufacturer for the TA03?

1. TA03F Pro Manual, Page 5, Step 4.

2. To use the carbon chassis plates on a base model TA03 kit you will also need the FRP chassis conversion set which has all of the mounting hardware included.

3. You should use the belt tensioner to adjust the belt tension. If the belt is so stretched the belt tensioner doesn't have enough adjustment, it might be time for a new belt.

4. The Tamiya original part is rare as hens teeth (as are most of the original Tamiya TA03 hopup parts). GPM has aftermarket TA03 alloy parts at Asiatees.com.

5. Try a wanted ad in the trades section, or in the wanted section of the forum.

Thanks one question answered. (no1) By the way, what will be the chararistics of putting the one way bearing up front or at the back?

I allready use the carbon chassis plates. So I should have all the mounting hardware, I do not know? If I can have a peek at the original instructions that came with this hop up part I may have an idea.

I use a small bearing to tension the belt.

THe heatsink has to be Tamiya. I only need the mount plate MB23.

Thanks for all the help.

Just look at the TA-03F Pro manual provided. The carbon chassis plates replace the FRP plates, so you'll need the parts that are required for that. Of the top of my head, those parts are:

- the plastic part to mount the steering system on (GPM makes an aluminium version)

- the plastic parts for the battery mount

- the antenna-tube holder.

The TA03R set is similar.

Why do you need to tension the belt more? I barely have any adjustment on my belts and they are already quite taunt.

The motor mount plate isn't really a heatsink. You would need a parts bag for it. Look in the back of a TA03 manual for which parts bag it is in. GPM do have a finned replacement for this motor plate.

I would put the one-way in the front gearbox myself.

yea i got some parts from asia tees for my ta03. They are alright IMO. Im not too impressed with them.

I suggest you get the CF or alum shock towers since the stock ones do crack where the ball end goes.

. . . ok we are running in circles here. I will send you pics of what I'm talking bout in an hour or so.

I allready have the full carbon chassis conversion etc etc etc. I'm talking bout the carbon battery plate hop up conversion for the TA03.

I'll also send a pic of the belt tensoining system used with a full carbon chassis conversion.

Lee172 please send me a link to those posts, thank you.

Thanks TA-mark for the photo's. I'll try the one way up front. We are racing this Sunday and wil let yo know what happens.

Are all the Aramid fibre belts one size??

There are 2 different wheelbase TA03's. TA03F and TA03R are the regular 257mm wheelbase. TA03FS and TA03RS are a shorter tub and shorter belt.

Here are the instructions for the TA03R Torque Control set:

Not sure which 'battery plate' you are referring to; Perhaps the quick release?

Hope this helps!
