Im trying to identify this spur gear on my F102, it says 93T on it, I tried a standard 18t tamiya pinion but its too coarse.

Some one has said that it is 64 pitch, then I have read that Tamiya use metric sizes 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 module.

I bought this from Ebay so don,t know its history, but I do know this isn't the standard spur gear.

Any suggestions for the best pinion gear would be appreciated.

You most likely have the 93t gear from the OP-900 option gear set. OP-900 is the new part number and they are grey the old ones are cream. I forget the parts number for the old cream ones right now but its the same set of gears just a different color. Anyway you can use either the .4 pinions from Tamiya or 64pitch pinions. I use just the reverse with the Tamiya .04 pinion on 64 pitch spurs without issues.

You can also use the stock F103 spur gear that will work with your 18th pinion, outer hub is the wrong size but you can use the rest of the parts in the set.

Hi, thanks for that, you hit the nail right on the head, it is cream in colour.

If the spur is 93T, what size pinion would you recomend, I'm not running it, its just for display purposes only.

Thanks again.

Found this on a certain action site, so went for it.

Tamiya 53101 0.4 20/21T steel pinion gears, should do the job.
