Possible Unofficial Tamiyaclub Meet In June

Hi people,

I am just putting the feelers out to see what the responce would be to an organizied, unofficial tamiyaclub meeting in June at an off road car club near Southampton.

It would be on an all astro track just like Kidderminster.

The track is near Southampton so this would be a TC SOUTH meet/event.

Hopefully may run two or even three times a year.

Can be on a Saturday or a Sunday.

Options are we would get the track all to ourselves on the Saturday - no computer timings.

OR we can join in with the racing on the Sunday morning with the TORCH racers and have the track to ourselves after that (all afternoon) with no time limit just til it gets dark !

You do not have to be a BRCA member.............................if you are thats ace.

Club rules state you can run at three meeting and THEN you must join the BRCA so we get out of that one.

The club would want £5 per person running, doesn't matter how many cars you run unless you run in the meetings racing with TORCH then its £5 per class.

see what you think, remember this is going to be classed as a SOUTH TC meet/event. BUT if you want to travel a large distance ALL are welcome.

doesn't have to be Tamiya cars.................just NO nitro as they will kill the track............no exceptions!

Will be booking in, in advance so the club can cater for it.

I think it is a great idea and will certainly be there. Maybe we could incorporate a general Tamiya Club get together and swap meet type thing? It would be good to meet some other members and see some of their cars in the flesh! Maybe swap a few parts?

Either way some vintage racing would be fun, I have a Terra Scorcher ready for action and the track at TORCH would be ideal.

sounds good to me as only up the road(ish), been to torch a few times last year, good old school type track, getting the hotshot through the twisty section should be fun.

After talking with many TC people it looks like the first weekend in June is going to best. Thats the 5th and 6th.

But I still need to know if people want to do the Saturday or the Sunday............................?

We could sort out having a barbacue and some refreshments around tea time

people who want to bring things to trade/ sell etc are welcome to

I am hoping we can run a fun Lunchbox/pumpkin race as this is always a great laugh
