Is there anyone that sells the lead that plugs into the MFC and goes to the back of the tractor truck (J28) on its own or will I have to buy the whole kit to get one?

AFAIK the lead you want only comes with the light set

It would be possible to make your own, the socket is just a 6 pin mini din (ps/2) socket and they're available from RS

it will open a new window which shows a diagram with all the sizes on it

The actual socket is a universal size, couldn't say for sure if the mounting holes are the same though
