Once in a while you get lucky... Got a Wild Dagger, practically new, for $40 today from the Goodwill store. Came with an older MRC Super Brain battery charger and a Hitec Ranger radio. It is missing the speed controller, but otherwise looks complete. Body has a nice paint job, too. Tires still have almost full spikes.

Pics later...

Gotta get that price tag off the hood. ;)

Just took a closer look at it... should be a good backyard basher with a little work. I need to clean out the gearboxes (someone went with the "more is better" approach to lubrication) and install bearings, and the servo-saver is pretty wobbly, but otherwise it looks fine.

Radio has sticky stuff all over it from packing tape (it was all taped together in a big bundle... stupid Goodwill) but it likewise looks pretty much new. I'm not a big fan of Hitec radio gear, but if it works, I'll use it.

It also came with a no-name 1800mah stick pack; I'll try charging it tomorrow and see what happens.

Must be the EX Boyfriend's truck lmao.

The poor child that asked his mommy if he could have it  Mommy telling him later we'll go back and get it after we cash my check. They come back and it's gone...Child is crying and mommy feels really bad. :)

Seriously though.. A Twin Det with double brushless power and beadlock wheels may be my next project. Blueprint everything to perfection and have it so scary to drive that all the campground kids will run away from it lol..hahaaha . I love that chassis and I have two BFX trucks..current one being assembled now..still deciding on power... keep it tame or go with EZrun brushless... I never had brushless so I may go with it as a preview before my Twin Det project for next year.

It's alive... Alive!

Totally box-stock, at least for now. Running a Novak Rooster through my trusty Tactic 2.4ghz radio. I had to replace the Hitec servo with a Futaba one; whoever built the truck wedged a bit of paper into the splines of the servo saver to "shim" the output shaft. You can imagine how well that was working...

Rainy day, so I didn't get too much time to run, but I can already tell I'm going to love this truck. It's much quieter than I expected it to be, and it turns nice and tight. I was going to pull out the front motor and run it 2WD, but I like it how it is. Now I just need 24 bearings. And oil shocks. And maybe some better tires. and... it begins... again...

Looking great  It remembers me of my WD - it was my second car. I shouldn't have sold it (I thought it was too slow and I didn't know ebay back then, so I didn't even know there were nice hopups to make it quick and better handling) - Anyhow, enjoy it! :D These are in essence great cars, and pretty tough too! (Mine fell from a 1.5 meter ramp quite a few times before damaging anything - in the end it was one of the mounts from the gearbox to the main chassis that gave up).
