So I thought it'd be amusing to mention something we think is the rarest RC item we have. Cars, parts, memorabilia, etc etc.

Could also be a good way to find out if the thing you think is rare, is not that rare after all

I'll go. Hmm, let's see...

- Spica Roadrunner complete with body. (See here. This is mine, used for comparison purposes in Mark's showroom).

- Decal sheet for a 1/10 buggy by a brand called Yodel (I wonder if it ever existed).

- First six 1/32 mini 4WDs, original releases, but sealed. (This one might be too easy I think)

OK, there's 3. Somebody else's turn....(pictures welcome).

I had a transparent edition 1/32 mini 4WD Fox with blue tires... Never seen another, however I threw it out ages ago because the tires dried out and disintegrated...

For some reason I just can't resist posting on this topic, but I'm here to show off, so I figured why not?;)

First up is my random find in Jason's store -- Listed only minutes before I snapped them up, I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw them listed at the same price the normal 53155 'pink' dampers are typically sold at :o Believe I've posted these before, but here they are again:

IMG_8988.jpg

I've actually collected most of the touring car dampers Tamiya has made, including all of the TA03 'Super Low Friction' dampers, with one exception: I have never seen the #49069 Blue set in any condition. (PLEASE email me if you know of a set! )

My absolute rarest item is probably the 49578 'Super White' TA02 chassis tub; I have it posted in my showroom here.

Never seen another like it, and believe me, I've looked! :D

Some very old unused Tamiya xmas wrapping paper (no idea of date & don't really care). Not exactly the pride of my collection and not very nice wrapping paper, thats why I think I may be only one to have it, Its possible I'm not the only one though.

I think the rarest thing I've still got left are my new & unused full set of original Parma chrome Scorcher wheels in original packets.

How about 2 very early Nichimo pan cars, both originally with lancia strato's shells though one is missing. Unfortunatly, these are so uncommon that I doubt one of them will ever run again due to some of the gears missing from the gearbox, if anyone has any old nichimo pan car parts please let me know

Oh and a pair of crp srb front shock tower extenders nip(well packets opened but as new condition)

Really should picture those pan cars, pretty interesting to say the least.

I have the ability to roll nearly any car when driving on a flat surface in a straight line. Some people would call that ineptitude, I call it a super power that hasn't quite found it's outlet yet.

I once owned what was probably the world's most lashed up RC10, I'm pretty sure I now own the world's shoddiest Kyosho Optima (you'd have to go a long way to beat that cardboard chassis).

How about my personal collection of 50271 Avante tyres, I have 63 pairs of them stored away for many rainy days ;-)

Either that or the best part of 2.5 Tonnes of NIP Tamiya and Kyosho parts LOL

Please note they are NOT for sale!.

Thanks

I wouldn't consider myself a collector by any means, probably the rarest thing I have is a NIP #50314 7.2 Flashing Unit, and I dont even know if it is rare or not (probably not).

just think... even if you have something you consider rare, Loaded has 5 NIB ;) Hmmm where is Paul anyway?

Sounds like a sweet collection, FinishLineRC.

Remember, we are not looking specifically for big items, nor items that appear in the showroom more than once.

More, it's those ultra rare items - things you've actually never seen apart from your own ;) (doesn't matter if they're worth $1 or $1000).

Like James, with the clear mini 4WD Fox.

I had a transparent edition 1/32 mini 4WD Fox with blue tires... Never seen another, however I threw it out ages ago because the tires dried out and disintegrated...

I have never seen or heard of this either. (James, maybe it didn't exist - how to prove the existence of a transparent thing you threw away? :D j/k)

When you start to think about it, there aren't too many things that are so rare. I have many "rare" things, but sooner or later I see someone else with them too.

But another couple I thought of:

- NIB spare bodyset for Radio Shack Golden Arrow. Now that I definitely know is ultra rare, as it was never a retail item.

- Orange rubber bag (as per catalogue photo) included in Super Champ kit. (No, it's not just an orange balloon someone put in there :o

Mine would be:

1 My Winger (nearly complete) resto project.

2 My Parma Chrome wheels (Avatar pic)

3 My NIP Parma frogjumper body set

The best part ;) these have cost a grand total of NZ$33 (12-15 GBP)

Cheers

Now that I've never seen!!!

Must have missed it when Twinset posted... Now I'm off to check some boxes, lol ;)

OK OK - I guess I just had my leg pulled, lol.

I thought he was referring to the box art, but instead pointing out the body shell is the other way 'round???

A bit early for April 1st festivities, isn't it? <_<

LOL Sorry Steve, but if you'd have not posted that I'd have taken your first post as sarcasm and you'd have got clean away with it ;)

A wife that let's me enjoy my hobby and sometimes even build kits with me :o

Thats one up in rarity on TWINSETS mini I think.

Hi

I have this vintage Dune Buggy Chassis by Tamiya, kit no. 7049. The kit includes a two speed transmission, factory assembled gear box with sterrable front wheels and rubber like tires. It has a roll bar, drive gears, gear shift lever, buggy tires, UM3 battery box, a front bumper and an Ackermann steering system. I have not seen any others around here on the club.

Cheers

Ha, no worries - Just how my mind works I guess :o

After hearing of the error in the 959 boxes, I'm starting to think anything is possible <_<
