Can someone tell me?What is the difference between the tamiya tz and bz motor?

I have a chance to buy a very little used 2nd hand tz motor for my baja champ. Will it be ok?

I wood be grateful for any help on the subject.

They are the same. The BZ comes with foam cover to help keep dirt out. The BZ might have slightly more powerful magnets for extra torque, but in general they are the same.

Someone else will have to chime in if this is a good motor for a Baja Champ. I could be wrong, but i seem to recall the BC has limited gearing choices and a Sport Tuned or Dirt Tuned work better.

I have been told the Dirt Tuned motor is a good motor for the BJ.I dont know if i will get much more speed using the Dirt Tuned though.

It is a shame the gearing options are very limited.

Skip the dirt tuned. It's just a rebuildable silver-can with a foam cover.

I would go with the TZ or RZ because it's less expensive. Neither motor is better than the other, just different. TZ is less rpm with more torque. RZ is more powerful if geared right. The BZ is completely identical to the TZ except for the color and foam cover. Specs on both the TZ and BZ are identical if you convert the units. Same magnets, and same can. Same everything. Tamiya changed the units of measure just to make the motor seem different. Plus you don't want to use foam covers anyways because they overheat the motor.

Ok thanks the Tz will be my motor of chioice then.

I was going to order a bz but there are a lot more bargains to be had with the tz motors for some reason.

I can get a 23 turn Hackmoto motor for half the price of a Tz but i dont know if they are good quality.

I dont know if anyone on here has ever tried them?
