Hi guys long time since i been here, i got into fishing recently and not been doing RC much, but as you can imagine if there is an element of RC related to fishing im going to be in on it lol!! im making a bait boat and want to use some of my left over car electrics ...., it has twin props and is a toy i am converting into a bait boat. can you beleive bait boats start from around £400 for a decent one :) all they are is a glorified RC boat!!

so the question is can i run 2 x 380 motors off of my one esc? (mtroniks sport 27t limit)..motor wires bound together and wired to esc as normal.. was going to run the whole thing of a normal sport pack 7.2v or will this make the motors scream a bit? :) or worse still fry the esc?

i know this is not normally a boat site but i thought id ask you guys as i know i can rely on your info as i have done in the past!

Many thanks

Instead of being on here asking about cheating,er bait boats sorry, you could try going into the garden and practicing your casting :) just dont overshoot and hit your neighbours brand new car(not that ive ever done it, only heard about it ...honestly.... :) )

Seriously though Does it have to be 380`s? you can pick up 540`s for peanuts these days and run them off a teu103bk,well sealed in a condom it should handle both motors(its what its designed for) and be waterproof enough for what you need.As for the mtroniks i think some of them are waterproof as standard but i think yours will be too low a rating. As far as i know when you have two motors you should Double the turn rating, IE two 28 turn 540`s would be safest with a 14 turn esc.but wait and see what the others say on the matter

yeah lol i hear you on the casting, but RC and fishing it was inevitable lol ;)

the reason a said 380's is cos i need the thing to cruise really, twin 540's would probably empty the lake of water  plus instead of spending money i wanted to see if i could utilise what i already had if you know what i mean

thanks for your help

iv got cheapo speed boat with twin 380s. was none proportional before with all or nothing acceleration and cut off one prop steering so we fitted rudder and speed controller ,it is only a standered esc not twin motor type!. my mate did it and the speed controller is sealed so cant take pics but its do-able lol

iv been running it with a 3300 battery usually flat out lol not had any issues :)

thats uncanny mate, i have that excact speedboat (not the boat im using for bait boat) but was given one same as that for spares. ive got all the props from it that i was going to use in the baitboat. but if it works for you with the 380's then it should be ok, going to try it anyway and will refer to your wiring! many thanks for taking the time to post those pics! :)
