i have a super clodbuster and its now a few years old, i havnt used it for a bit but got it out today for a run. the clod is compleatly stock with no hop-ups and a manual speed controll. i need a new speed controll as the old one doesnt work very well, does anyone have any suggestions?

also i have lost all drive in the front wheels, does anyone no how this problem could have been caused? and any ways to repair it?

thanks for any help you can provide.

I had this problem with my superclod, so I've now ditched the MSC and got an Esc instead. I bought a 12t limit Ansmann ESC for £30, running the motors so they are in power mode all the time, and its so much better, I wish i'd done it before!

Your MSC probably needs a clean and regrease. Either replace it with a (#45037) Tamiya TEU-103BK or other equivalent ESC.

Use either a twin motor speed controller or a low turn single with 'Y' connectors.

Turn on you clod and with it in forward (looking at the brushes through the back of the motor) see if the front motor turns at all.

If it does it's more than likely your pinion grub screw has come loose. If it doesn't them one of the connectors on the power/economy switch has probably come off.

the moter doesnt move. and since last night i have lost all drive in the economy mode, it might not be as fun as power but its useful to get i back to the car after ther batterys are mostly dead.

How long do you plan on running? The clod with a decent battery runs for a looong time even in power mode.

because i dont race at all with the r/c cars (ill stick to the 160cc go-carts) i just use them for street bashing, so i use them untill the battery dies, i have about 8 batteries but at least 4 of them are over 3 years old and starting to loose charge or not taking the charge, out of the batterys that still work i have a 4500 milli amp 2 3000milliamps and a 2500milliamp. all of witch ar 7.2volts.

Take the electronics tray off and check all the wires are still connected to power/economy switch, also make sure your motor wires are still connected to each motor.

You should have no problem obtaining 20+ minute run times with a good 4500mah battery.
