What do you guys prefer a clod or a txt?

I know the txt is a much higher spec kit but the clod is WAY cooler and it looks like more fun.

My vote goes to the clod[:D]

i think it depends whether the truck is stock or modified.

i really like the look of a stock txt-1, the aluminium chassis is amazing. what makes the clod look cool is the great looking chevey body, the plastic tub chassis itself is pretty boring to look at, and doesnt perform well either.

but!!!!....

seeing as you can build a clod completley using aftermarket bits, they can be made to look and perform just as good, if not even better than a txt-1.

so with modifiactions, both trucks can be made to perform practicly the same. the clod has the advantages of being easy to modify because there are no drive shafts and central gearbox to worry about, but the txt-1 makes a very good climber as it doesnt suffer from the clods tendency to deliver all the battery power to the gearbox with the least traction.

to be honest i cant decide [;)]

should be getting a txt-1 soon, so i'll see how it compares with my old clod [:)]

After having a Bull Head and now having my TXT I say TXT all the way!!! Sure you can hop up a clod/bull head but depending on what your plan for the truck is? The TXT kicks out of the box over the clod, can crawl, bash, monster truck action etc. Both can be hopped up to do what ever it is that you want it to do.

I have one of each and can't decide either way which is best. My TXT-1 is made for speed but cost a fortune to get there. My Clod is more of a Crawler/Basher but cost a fortune to get there as well. Depends what you want to do with it. Out of the box, the TXT-1 is more easily made for bashing - crawling - or speeding [;)]. check my showroom here:

backtomyroots your trucks are fantastic! Yes the clod is more suited to be a crawler and the txt more suited to be a racer but unfortunately the txt gets SMOKED by an e-maxx.[:D]

But standard on the emaxx you get dual 550s and a two speed however a brushless TXT like yours will be much lighter, have less drivetrain friction and handle better[:D] I bet it cost you a mint LOL

backtomyroots your brushless txt-1 looks really mean!!! [8D]

i still dont think a txt-1 can be fairly compared with an e-max, a txt-1 has a proper monster truck chassis, with solid axels and multi link suspension. an e-maxx is just a buggy with big wheels IMO [:P]

what about that XTM x-factor thing? anyone drove one [?]

If I was buying a vehicle in that class, I'd be going for the Clod Buster. Most other R/C manufacturers build their cars solely on performance. Now, as an occasional driver of my cars, that's only half the story. Tamiya builds for performance, it's true, but they also build for looks. I don't find the TXT appealing at all, with servos mounted at the front, and the see-through chassis. The Clod is a great looking vehicle, to go along with its good performance. Tamiya wants their stuff to look good, as well. That's where the Clod really shines. A Clod Buster walks the walk. No other Tamiya vehicle looks as impressive as this one does, the Juggernaut was homely, and the TXT looks too scientific. So, I think if I was buying, I'd want something that looks great, and the Clod does. A few minor upgrades, and you've got a great truck. No wonder it's been their most popular vehicle. Appearance, performance, price, and upgrade potential.
