ive just fitted this

as ive now got a wheelie bar (wip) and ive ballraced the truck i thought why not! my question is will the g box handle it and will the motor be ok as its a 10 tooth pinion. your opinions please???? i tested it quickly earlier and it goes very well indeed. jus dont want to break it. thanks in advance dan

Chances are it'll accelerate poorly have a half decent top end and slowly kill the motor through overheating. I had an 11t turn in my KBF and it got killed by the truck. It actually goes a lot better with a 23t Super Stock RZ. Acceleration is way better, top speed is hardly any different and batteries last loads longer. Not to mention the motor is under hardly any stress compared to the 11t. All this is in my humble experience. Sorry if it brings bad news...!

i run a 13x2 in my bushdevil (same gearbox) and its been fine for about 3 months, its quick even on acceleration and doesnt get that hot with heatsink fitted. run time is about 5 min on a 2100 batt. like real cars, to get more out, ya gotta put more in[]

how about running a 550 sized motor on the KBF? anyone done it yet? I was in a similar situation with my TL01B based MT. (see http://www.tamiyaclub.com/xforum/topic.asp...&SearchTerms=a) and I went back to the stock 550 motor for now. Since I don't want the thing to catch fire... again...

A 550 motor is a wise choice in any MT, I was using them already in 88 in my Mud Blaster and it was the ideal motor for it after many I tried (different Kyosho and Tamiya motors of that time, even Technigold)

well just had 15 mins of great fun! mega wheelies and great top end speed with good acceleration, i can now pop wheelies at high speed. =) the 13 triple has turned my king bf into a real animal. cant wait to go off road with it now. motor got hot but not overly, ive had it a lot hotter in my tl01. any bets on how long before it needs skimming and new brushes? ive got another battery on allready, i love how this thing goes now. =)

hi again, used the truck 4 or 5 times and it is really good fun now, i think its time for some new brushes, do you think its time?

i had run this motor in my tl01 a few times, how many runs should i expect before it needs skimmed and brushes??
