Are the dog bones the same length? Do you have the little rubber o rings on each end of the dog bones? Your side plates (especially if it's the metal frog plates vs the plastic Blackfoot plates that use 3 screws each) or the arms might be worn/cracked to facilitate enough play/movement to have the bones pop out. When does it pop out? all the time or when you jump it?

pretty much tried new arms and new side supports(plastic type)

tried with and without o-rings.

but havn't tried new gearbox plates.i thought maybe the whole in the gear box

could be worn.I like the o-ring in the shock idea

so i'll try that next.i have 3blackfoots for my nephews and 2 do the pop

out out thing and 1 doesn't have a problem at all.

seems to do it when the suspesion drops all the way down.

didn,t want the expense of cvd's but might have to go that route.

any other ideas apreciated.

Hi the Tam Frog, Brat re-releases all do this... They are pretty sad, you need to insert o-rings in tranny outputs and in the axle ends this centers the shaft so it does not fall out, be careful not to add too many o-rings as it will impare arm movement at the point where the axle is level. It is really more or less a balancing act (not too much and not too little)

Hope this helps!

Ref the driveshafts - the early reissue kit are slighly differant to the later (the lengthend the drive cups on later ones, early type more likely to pop out) I'll try and dig some pics out to show. make sure the 'o' rings are put in as manual (bit of a Tamiya bodge IMO)

Also I would recommend cable tieing the rubber boots to the drive cups as per the original Brat / Frog. I've not had any pop out since I did that.

Other option is to return it to the original version B)

I'm not a fan of the CVJ that Tamiya did as I always got bad vibration from the drive train. Also check the movement of the rear arms, if there is any wear this will exagerate the problem..

Thanks everybody,

Haven't really got back to project yet

but all drivetrain parts are new.

Since 2 fall out and 1 doesn't,I bet the 2 that do are

the older units.never really campared the lengths.

Hate to change them now because i did the

tranny screw mod.At least till they ware out,

which should take a while with stock motor.

I may try to space out inside cup with a washer or 2

and see if that works. Not sure on the results

of that though worth a try.

thanks again,
