Folks,

If you're not a regular on RCTECH, you may not have seen this.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/australian-rac...s-w-2010-a.html

Where is the track located? Fred Caterson Reserve - Castle Hill

Directions: Travel along Showground Rd Castle Hill. Turn down Gilbert Rd, opposite Castle Hill Showground. Take the first left into Fred Caterson Reserve. Take the second left into Field 4. The track is at the far end of the car park.

Race Fees: 1st class - $20.

If you are entering more than one class, an extra fee of $5 per class, is payable. Payment can be made on the Saturday preceding the event, or on Race Day. Racing will commence at 9am.

We request that you are at the track, set up and prepared for a drivers meeting at: 8:00am.

Saturday - Social format. Turn up, practice, spectate or just dust of that shelfie for a gentle run and listen to the ohh's and ahh's of fellow vintage enthusiasts.

Sunday - Race day format: There will be three heats and TWO finals. Best combined finals will decide the class. Lap scoring will be performed by manual lap counting with flags and clickers. Depending on the number of entries and time permitting we WILL run more heats if possible.

This meeting is about the spirit and passion for our vintage cars, our mates and what club racing used to be. Whilst we are “racing” against each other, courteous driving, sportsmanship and respect for fellow competitors, and our cars are of the highest importance. This meeting has been conceived as a “festival” and as such, the spirit of competition is there, but it is not the most important thing: Representing your pride in your cars, you’re driving and your passion for the hobby is what this meeting is all about. Enjoy this meeting for what it is – a relaxed event where you can see some of the great cars from the 80’s running again, with some old and new friends.

CLASSES:

CLUBMAN: (formally "Informally" known as " Plastic Fantastic class). These cars are representative of the true "club racer" spirit and a representation of what so many of us started out with when we first started racing. The cars are to be of FIXED CAMBER and to run SILVER CAN RS540 motors only. In the spirit of fairness modifications to the cars are to be relatively restricted. simple modifications like bearings, shocks, sway bars are acceptable, however modifying the car beyond recognition will make the car unacceptable for the clubman class. 2wd cars only!

SPORTSMAN: This class is pretty much open to ANY CAR - however the major restriction is the fact that the motors used can be either the SILVER CAN RS540 or the TAMIYA SPORTS TUNED ONLY. Cars can be as modified, however only with period parts and reasonable mods representative of the period.

OPEN: Like the name suggests - anything goes in the motor department - so have your skills and car well prepared - it full on and awesome to watch!

GENERAL RULES:

BATTERIES:LI-PO batteries are most welcome. There are some STRICT rules as to what we allow though. HARD CASE LI-PO batteries are MANDATORY. WE WILL NOT allow soft cased LI-PO's to be used AT ALL. We would like to encourage the use of LI-PO sacks for charging. As far as other batteries go - any commercially available SUB C battery is usable. 7.2 Volts for SUB C cell is the maximum voltage. 7.4 Volts is maximum for LI-PO.

MODIFICATIONS:Modifications to cars are to be kept PERIOD CORRECT. This means that the cars should be fitted with upgrades and or parts form other cars from the SAME period (BEFORE DEC 31, 1990). PLEASE don't expect to be able to run your Losi Pro SE that happens to be fitted with a Losi Pro shell - or your Manta Ray fitted with Carbon Top Force EVO parts fitted to it....those are just two examples of things that WONT be eligible to run.

WHEELS AND TIRES:Whilst it would be fantastic if we could all still run original sized wheels and tires, it is really not totally feasible or possible for everyone to source and run them. For this reason we accept the use of modern wheels and tires. This makes it possible for more people to enjoy the fun that these meetings provide.
