Singapore_959 18 Posted April 11, 2010 For something a bit different... 3 time out sailing this year / spring, first time someone had a camera. The mighty Yamaha being chased by a smaller Robbe. Wind was bit OTT at times but was good to get the old girl out. Sailing is always fun And under some photos of the Kyosho Seawind after some loving late last year with new sails and more effective rudder. She's now called The Black Fin, lol It's really a wonderful form of RC.
Hibernaculum 933 Posted April 12, 2010 Beautiful. When you get down low to watch them, under a gentle wind, the realism is so impressive. I have the Tamiya Yamaha 40EX, and with it's delicate deck fencing, steering wheel and seating area was quite a nice model to put together (though these parts are fragile). I was also fortunate enough to find a rare Tamiya Adspec Sailing radio set from Canada (long discontinued), which has the ratchet control, and kept the whole project "Tamiya" branded (even though it's Futaba underneath). I have a good sized dam on my property and in fact haven't yet sailed her there yet, so I need to get out and do that soon. Thanks for posting about these little-discussed models
