Hi

its been a long time since I wired a clod and as I'm doing up one with an esc I am not sure how to wire in the power/eco switch! Is it easy and do I really need it? The clod will have stock motors to start and the esc is a viper12!

Cheers

With the ESC i do not think you need the switch. My bro runs the TEU 103 and i doubt he put one on his.

i've also just upgraded my super clod to an ESC, and the power switch is noe totally redundant! Not that I ever used it with the msc anyway........!!!!

Not needed, with my ESC i just followed advice of someone on here, just create some Y cables and run that from the ESC to the 2 motors.

Thats just what I have done. :)

I did see some guides to wiring up the esc with the power/eco switch but in the end I just didn't bother as my esc gives good control anyway. Its just a shame that there is no connector to rig the lights up now but I can just add a 4 battery holder and switch and connect the lights to that! I'm using a viper RV 12 esc by the way not the more expensive and not as good IMHO tamiya teu103! Slightly off topic, I have a bullhead. Do you need a special esc to run twin motors or can you just wire it to both motors?

I believe to run 2 motors as described above you need to half the turn of the motors to get the value.

so IIRC a silver can is 27 turn? so you need an ESC that can support a 13 turn motor minimum, so most 'unlimited' ones will be fine. this is assuming you have the same motor twice.

i think this is correct
