i have a couple of these ndf01 cars

the best thing about them is that they are nitro!!

i have not seen a specific electric conversion kit for them though.

you may need to do some mods

also if you are going to run a fast motor, you should probably get the slipper clutch kit for it

the ndf01 is a bit of tank though - it's kinda designed for the power of a nitro engine.

looks like it will cost about $500 to convert that ndf01, using that mamba monster setup.

i would imagine it would go well though!!!

I have a nitro thunder, but keep breaking the clutch spring for some reason which is annoying!

but as said, they are heavy so would think you would need quite a hefty motor and power to get them to any reasonable speed.

Does any one have any info on conveting the Nitro Thunder to electric??

Im not very helpful, but there was on of these converter to electric in an old RC magazine and they used two 540 size motors, not brushless so if you did something like that it might keep the cost down.

The MambaMax Monster systems are aimed at 1:8 scale buggys and trucks (standard equipment in a Savage-Flux) and are more powerful than a 0.32cui nitro when powered by 6s Li-Po. Very much overkill in a 1:10 buggy.

The MambaMax 1:10 4600Kv/5700Kv system would power the NDF01 along very quickly. Similar in performance to an 0.18cui with a 5700Kv on 11.1v Li-Po. Smaller power brushless systems (read EZ-Run) would struggle in a nitro->brushless conversion.

I have done this conversion to a HPI MT2 before there were any conversion kits. It powers along fine. I did fit a fan to the MambaMax ESC as I give it a very hard time, continually running pack after pack through it.

To do the conversion I needed to make a motor mount, a motor clamp brace (clamps to the motor can and doubles as a heatsink), source a Mod1 pinion that would give an approximate 11.5:1 FDR. Using a solid spur gear instead of the 2 speed will allow you to use the motor for brakes and allow you to have reverse. You will also need to manufacture a battery mount to hold your packs. Expensive parts to have made as a one-off if you don't have access to machining equipment to do it yourself.

It's worth the effort if you prefer electric and want something just a bit different. Wish you luck if you plan to do it to the NDF01.
